Loomis NRX LP 590-4 5-weight, 9' fly rod is widely celebrated among serious anglers as one of the finest light presentation trout rods ever created. Built for technical spring creeks, tailwaters, and broad freestones, this 5-weight configuration excels when fishing small to medium dry flies, light dry-dropper rigs, and subtle emergers. Its smooth, moderate-fast action loads intuitively at short distances while retaining plenty of reserve backbone to reach across broad currents, delivering pinpoint accuracy while cushioning 6X and 7X tippets during sudden strikes.

Handcrafted in Woodland, Washington, under the direction of master rod designer Steve Rajeff, this rod utilizes the proprietary NRX graphite matrix bonded with a high-performance nano-silica resin system. Combined with G. Loomis Multi-Taper Design, this advanced construction strategically reinforces potential stress points while eliminating excess weight, yielding an exceptionally low swing weight and effortless tracking. The rod features a titanium frame SiC stripping guide alongside flexible nickel-titanium RECOIL single-foot guides that shrug off brush strikes and return true. An ergonomic AAA-grade cork half-wells grip and a custom aluminum up-locking reel seat balance comfortably in hand throughout long days on the water.

This preowned G.
