Sage Salt Xi3 1190-4 - ROD1407

Driving a bulky fly through howling coastal headwinds to intercept a cruising tarpon demands immense lifting power, laser-sharp line speed, and precise tracking. The Sage Salt Xi3 1190-4 11-weight, 9' fly rod delivers authoritative fast-action performance and exceptional casting control for the most demanding big-game saltwater fly fishing. Built to command the expansive flats of the Florida Keys, the Caribbean, and remote coral atolls, this 11-weight configuration excels when pursuing migratory tarpon, trophy giant trevally, cobia, and offshore pelagic predators. Its responsive taper picks up heavy sinking or floating lines smoothly, generates tight aerodynamic loops that slice through gale-force gusts, and delivers the deep lower-blank backbone required to turn powerful gamefish away from structure.

Handcrafted on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this fly rod incorporates Sage proprietary SaltH2O Technology paired with Generation 5 (G5) graphite construction. By optimizing resin distribution and blank hoop strength, SaltH2O technology dramatically increases torsional resistance, preventing blank twist during aggressive double hauls so every cast tracks straight to the target with minimal wasted energy. The rod is appointed with saltwater-ready components, including corrosion-resistant Fuji stripping guides with Alconite ceramic inserts, oversized hard chrome snake guides that clear heavy line knots effortlessly, and a rugged black anodized aluminum up-locking reel seat with heavy-knurled double lock rings. A premium full-wells cork grip and durable fighting butt provide the ergonomic leverage necessary during grueling stand-up fights.

This preowned Sage Salt Xi3 1190-4 arrives in Good condition, displaying cosmetic marks from previous saltwater use while maintaining complete structural integrity and original factory casting performance.
