TERMS OF SALE FOR SELLING TO RECAST FLY FISHING

1. Our Commitment to Transparency
Recast Fly Fishing (“we”, “us,” “our”) aims to provide an accurate, fair valuation for your gear based on its condition. By submitting items for a quote or shipping them to us, you agree to these Terms of Sale. We conduct a physical inspection upon arrival, so all quotes are preliminary and valid for 14 days. We reserve the right to revise or cancel any transaction prior to the issuance of payment.
2. Item Inspection and Valuation
We perform a detailed inspection to ensure every piece of gear meets our standards for resale.

Accessories: To prepare gear for its new owner, we remove and recycle items like old fly line, backing, and packaging. Why we do this: These items are typically worn out and cannot be reused. Removing them allows us to focus on the value of the primary equipment. These secondary items are not returnable, even if the primary gear is returned.

Valuation: If an item does not match the model, brand, or condition described in your quote, we will issue an updated offer. Note: Because we are a specialized re-commerce vendor, we cannot always find a market for every item. If an item is found to be unsellable (e.g., broken, counterfeit, or a model we do not carry), the valuation may be revised to $0.

Acceptance: If we issue a revised offer, you will be notified via email. We will provide a detailed explanation and photos (if applicable). You have 7 calendar days from notification to accept or decline the updated offer. If you do not respond within 7 days, the revised offer will be automatically accepted, and your payout will be processed accordingly. Once accepted, manually or automatically, the transaction is final.
3. Shipping and Packaging Guidelines
We provide a prepaid, insured, trackable shipping label to make this process easy for you. We ask that you follow these guidelines to keep shipping costs manageable for our community.

Dimensions: Labels are for packages within these limits: Standard rods (36x4x4), Spey rods (45x4x4), Reels (6.5x6.5x5), Rods and reels together (36-47x6x6)

Shipping Window: Once your trade-in request is accepted and a prepaid label is generated, your shipment must be received or scanned by the carrier within 14 calendar days. If the shipping label is not used within 14 days, the transaction will be automatically canceled and the shipping label voided.

Restrictions: Do not use round shipping tubes or PVC pipes. Do not use any package longer than 47 inches. Do not use any package with more than a combined 4 inches of open space above and below your items. Boxes that are longer than your items must be trimmed down to size prior to shipping. The Why: Shipping gear is expensive. Oversize packaging incurs significant surcharges from carriers. We ask you to stick to these limits so we can continue to offer free shipping for all sellers. Any oversize shipping charges will be deducted from your payout. If the total payout is insufficient to cover these surcharges, you will be responsible for the difference. If you decline an offer on items sent in non-compliant packaging, reimbursement of these extra shipping costs is required before return shipping.

Liability: We are not liable for damage due to insufficient packaging. Please pack your gear to withstand transit movement. You must provide authorized proof of drop-off (a carrier receipt) to file any damage claims.
4. Returns and Mismatched Items
We want you to be happy with your offer. If you decline a revised offer, we are happy to return your gear.

Responsibility: Because our free shipping service is based on accurate item descriptions, we cannot absorb the cost of return shipping for items that were misidentified (e.g., rated "Like New" but showing wear) or sent in oversize, non-compliant packaging. In these cases, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping, plus any oversize shipping costs incurred on the inbound shipment.

Procedure: We will hold your items until shipping costs are remitted. Failure to remit payment for return shipping within 30 days of notification will result in your items being classified as Abandoned Property.
5. Payment and Ownership
Once your payment is processed, all rights and title to the items irrevocably pass to Recast Fly Fishing. You are responsible for providing accurate payment details. If we are unable to process payment due to errors on your part, we will make every effort to reach you. If we cannot resolve payment details within 30 days, the items will be subject to our Abandoned Property policy.
6. Abandoned Property Policy
"Abandoned Property" is defined as any item remaining in our possession for more than 30 calendar days following: (a) an unpaid invoice for return shipping fees or carrier surcharges, or (b) an inability to process your payout due to unresolvable or missing payment details provided by the seller. If your gear becomes Abandoned Property, we reserve the right to liquidate, donate, or recycle the items at our discretion to cover storage and administrative costs.
7. Seller’s Representation and Warranty
By submitting items, you confirm you are the lawful owner, the items are free of liens or third-party claims, and they are not reported lost or stolen. We cooperate with law enforcement and may require documentation (such as an original receipt) to verify ownership.
