Sage Spey II 5/6/7 - REEL1429

Swinging flies through classic river runs and feeling the sudden rush of a summer steelhead demands flawless line management and dependable stopping power. The Sage Spey II 5/6/7 fly reel delivers refined balance, smooth drag performance, and full-frame security for modern two-handed fly fishing. Sized for 5-weight, 6-weight, and 7-weight Spey and switch setups, this reel is an ideal match for anglers pursuing summer-run steelhead, sea-run cutthroat, and river salmon on lighter two-handed sticks. Its spacious spool easily accommodates thick Skagit heads, delicate Scandi lines, shooting line, and ample backing, while the full-frame cage design prevents thin running lines from slipping between the spool and frame during energetic casting cycles.

Precision-machined from aerospace-grade aluminum on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this fly reel utilizes the proven Sage Sealed Carbon System (SCS) drag, upgraded with advanced compression O-ring seals to lock out water, sand, and river grit. A numbered One-Revolution Drag Knob offers detented micro-adjustments for repeatable tension control, while a custom dual-clicker mechanism provides clear auditory feedback and prevents spool overrun during powerful Spey casts. The reel also features an off-axis reel foot positioned to match the spool center of mass, balancing your two-handed fly rod naturally in hand and featuring smooth, radiused edges to protect tippets and leaders from sharp bends.
