Sage Z-Axis 7100-4 - ROD1410

Mending heavy indicator rigs across turbulent river seams or punching long casts with weighted streamers requires exceptional leverage, line control, and responsive power. The Sage Z-Axis 7100-4 7-weight, 10' fly rod delivers legendary fast-action performance, lightning-fast recovery, and a lively feel that continues to set the standard among serious big-water anglers. Built to command large western rivers, coastal waterways, and stillwaters, this 10' configuration excels when pursuing summer and winter steelhead, lake-run brown trout, smallmouth bass, and reservoir trout from a float tube. The extra foot of length provides clean line clearance on deep-wading backcasts, effortless single-hand Spey and roll casting control, and the line speed needed to drive casts through relentless wind.

Handcrafted on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this flagship fly rod incorporates Sage Generation 5 (G5) Technology, blending advanced carbon fiber layups with optimized resin systems to create an exceptionally slim, lightweight blank. By strengthening hoop integrity and dampening blank vibration, G5 technology provides laser-straight tracking and a generous sweetspot that transfers casting energy smoothly without requiring harsh, fatiguing effort. Finished in the iconic Sage Cedar Green blank color with matching olive wraps and red and gold accents, the rod features a Fuji ceramic stripping guide, hard chromed snake guides, and a rugged anodized aluminum up-locking reel seat. A premium full-wells cork grip and integrated fighting butt offer dependable leverage and comfort when subduing powerful gamefish in heavy current.
