Sage Z-Axis Spey 7136-4 - ROD1411

Swinging a fly through broad river seams and waiting for the pulse of an aggressive steelhead calls for deep loading feel, smooth line speed, and effortless distance. The Sage Z-Axis Spey 7136-4 7-weight, 13'6" two-handed fly rod earned a legendary reputation across the Pacific Northwest and beyond as one of the sweetest-casting, most versatile Spey rods ever produced. Built to cover both summer and winter steelhead runs as well as anadromous salmon, this 13'6" configuration offers the ideal reach for controlling your swing and mending line across medium to large rivers. Its responsive fast action loads deeply into the butt section, delivering a forgiving casting stroke that generates tight, wind-cutting loops with long-belly floating lines, modern Scandi heads, and heavy Skagit sink-tip setups alike.

Handcrafted on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this fly rod incorporates Sage Generation 5 (G5) Technology, which utilizes advanced carbon fiber layups and optimized resin systems to significantly reduce overall blank weight and diameter. This construction provides exceptional hoop strength and dampens vibration, tracking true on forward deliveries to ensure casting energy translates into clean, laser-straight loops with minimal physical fatigue over long days in the river. Finished in Sage classic Cedar Green blank color with olive wraps and understated trim, the build features Fuji ceramic stripping guides, hard chromed snake guides, an anodized aluminum up-locking reel seat, and a traditional two-handed cork Spey grip designed for natural hand placement and smooth casting leverage.
