With a partially ported frame, the VAYA offers a perfect balance of lightness, rigidity, and surface area, showcasing Abel's expertly hand-anodized finishes. The reel also contains CNC-milled fly patterns on the interior. On this reel you'll find a hopper and a small streamer engraved on the inside. The large-arbor spool boasts a dual-pawl drag engagement system, eliminating the need for a counterweight. The incoming click and smooth outgoing drag provide audible and precise adjustments. The carbon and stainless multi-disk drag offers both strong resistance and delicate tippet adjustability.
This reel is finished in Black, with a custom "On the Hunt" engraving by artist Casey Underwood. The drag knob is also Black, and the handle is wood in Ebony. Abel reels are handcrafted in Colorado.
