G. Loomis NRX Plus 490-4 - ROD1397

Placing a micro-caddis into a tight pocket between conflicting currents requires laser-flat loops, instant recovery, and uncompromising accuracy. The G. Loomis NRX+ 490-4 4-weight, 9' rod delivers benchmark fast-action performance, broad-range versatility, and refined touch for technical trout angling. Built for stalking wary fish across glassy spring creeks, technical tailwaters, and broad western freestones, this 4-weight excels when presenting delicate dry flies, light dry-dropper rigs, and unweighted nymphs. Its crisp, progressive taper flexes smoothly with varied lengths of line, generating blistering line speed to punch through midday river breezes while retaining the delicate tip sensitivity required to protect fine 6X and 7X tippets.

Handcrafted in Woodland, Washington, this fly rod incorporates Dynamic Recovery Technology, combining an all-new Mega Modulus+ graphite matrix with the proprietary GL8 resin system. G. Loomis reimagined its legendary Multi-Taper Design to optimize energy transfer throughout the casting stroke, widening the sweet spot so anglers feel the blank load naturally whether making a 20-foot pitch or reaching past 60 feet. Componentry is selected for maximum weight savings and durability, featuring a titanium SiC stripping guide, flexible nickel-titanium single-foot RECOIL guides, and a custom aluminum up-locking reel seat accented with a figured walnut hardwood insert. A premium AAA-grade micro full-wells cork grip fits comfortably in hand, reducing fatigue over long days of technical casting.
