Hatch Iconic 5+ - REEL1433

The Hatch Iconic 5+ fly reel stands as the quintessential sweet spot in modern fly fishing, delivering elite stopping power and refined balance for 5-7 weight fly rods. Built to handle demanding fresh and saltwater scenarios, this versatile reel excels whether you are chucking articulated streamers to heavy river browns, casting poppers for aggressive smallmouth bass, or tracking bonefish across wind-blown flats. Its large-arbor profile ensures rapid line pick-up when running fish turn toward you, while the ultra-smooth, low-startup inertia drag protects fine tippets during sudden, explosive runs.

Precision machined in Southern California from aerospace-grade aluminum, the Iconic series showcases refined American craftsmanship built to endure punishing environments. Hatch integrates the reel seat directly into the solid frame, eliminating mounting screws and completely preventing galvanic corrosion over years of hard use. Inside, a fully sealed, carbon-filled drag system dissipates heat efficiently during blistering runs while delivering smooth, dependable pressure. By housing the drag assembly directly inside the reel body rather than using an internal cassette, Hatch eliminated superfluous components to reduce axial runout and maximize structural rigidity. Additionally, ported arbor cutouts promote airflow to help your backing dry thoroughly after wet days on the river.
