Sage Classic R8 486-4 - ROD1396

Targeting selective trout sipping dries in smooth feeding lanes requires a relaxed casting cadence and an unfiltered connection to your line. The Sage Classic R8 486-4 4-weight, 8'6" rod delivers an exceptional blend of smooth, moderate-action flex, immediate feedback, and delicate line control for technical trout water. Purpose-built for walk-and-wade anglers who prefer a deliberate approach during finicky hatches, this 8'6" length provides nimble maneuverability along brushy banks, spring creeks, and tailwater seams. Its deep-loading blank flexes smoothly at short to medium distances, landing dry flies with gentle precision while cushioning fine 5X to 7X tippets during sudden runs.

Handcrafted on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this fly rod incorporates Sage Revolution 8 Technology, combining an advanced axial fiber formulation with nano-sintered resins to create a moderate action that recovers crisp and true without sluggish tip bounce. Circumferential hoop fibers preserve the blank's optimal round profile under tension, transferring casting energy efficiently and giving you direct hand-to-fly-to-fish feel throughout every stroke. The aesthetic nods to classic heritage with a rich Sage Brown blank finish, chestnut thread wraps, and beige trim. Outfitted with progressive hardware, it features super-slick chrome snake guides and a tip-top, a SiC stripper guide, a super-plus grade snub-nose half-wells cork grip, and a custom aluminum up-locking reel seat with an extra-figured walnut insert.

This preowned Sage Classic R8 486-4 arrives in Great condition, displaying light cosmetic signs of previous use while maintaining original factory performance and complete structural integrity.
