Sage One 586-4 - ROD1406

Dropping a dry fly onto a swirling foam eddy tight against an undercut bank demands absolute tracking accuracy and immediate loop stability. The Sage ONE 586-4 5-weight, 8'6" rod delivers surgical precision, blistering line speed, and nimble control for technical trout water. Designed for walk-and-wade anglers fishing brushy freestones, meandering spring creeks, and medium-sized rivers, this 8'6" length offers exceptional maneuverability under tight canopy without sacrificing casting distance. Its fast action taper generates tight, wind-cutting loops that turn over dry-dropper rigs and weighted nymphs with authority, while maintaining the sensitivity required to protect delicate tippets during sudden takes.

Handcrafted on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this former flagship rod showcases Sage groundbreaking Konnetic Technology, which utilizes advanced composite materials and optimized aerospace resin systems to construct a noticeably slimmer blank profile. By aligning carbon fibers with microscopic precision, Konnetic Technology virtually eliminates lateral and torsional blank vibration, translating every ounce of casting energy directly into forward momentum and laser-straight tracking. Finished in Sage classic Black Ice blank color with black thread wraps and bronze accents, it features a Fuji ceramic stripping guide, hard chromed snake guides, a super-plus grade cork snub-nose half-wells grip, and a golden bronze anodized aluminum up-locking reel seat accented with a figured walnut wood insert.
