Sage Salt HD 890-4 - ROD1386

Spotting a tailing bonefish through surface glare and delivering a fly before the window closes demands instant line speed and unflinching wind-penetrating power. The Sage Salt HD 890-4 8-weight, 9' fly rod delivers exceptional casting accuracy, rapid tip recovery, and authoritative fish-fighting backbone for saltwater flats and heavy freshwater duty. Sized for bonefish, redfish, snook, and schoolie stripers, this rod cuts through stiff coastal breezes with minimal false casts. Its fast action profile provides the high line speed needed to turn over bulky crab patterns and weighted shrimp rigs, while the responsive tip allows you to drop flies delicately on skittish fish in shallow water.

Handcrafted on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this rod features Sage KonneticHD Technology, utilizing an advanced high-density carbon fiber matrix that optimizes the graphite-to-resin ratio. This construction eliminates lateral blank vibration and transfers casting energy efficiently along the entire length of the rod, giving you laser-straight tracking when punching into heavy headwinds. Finished in a handsome Squid Ink blank color with black thread wraps and blue trim, it includes oversized Fuji ceramic stripping guides and hard chrome snake guides that shoot heavy saltwater lines with minimal friction. A stealth black anodized aluminum reel seat locks your fly reel down securely, paired with a Super Plus full-wells cork grip and durable fighting butt to provide comfortable leverage during extended fights.
