Sage Sonic 490-4 - ROD1401

Presenting dry flies with pinpoint accuracy into tricky feeding lanes calls for a rod that marries crisp line speed with delicate presentation. The Sage Sonic 490-4 4-weight, 9' rod delivers exceptional versatility, smooth casting feedback, and responsive loop control for technical trout waters. Designed to handle diverse freshwater tactics, this 4-weight excels when casting dry flies to rising rainbows on glassy spring creeks, drifting light dry-dropper rigs along tailwater seams, or working small, unweighted nymphs through freestone pockets. Its fast action taper balances power and feel effortlessly, generating the line speed required to cut through sudden river breezes while preserving the supple tip touch needed to protect fine 5X and 6X tippets.

Handcrafted on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this fly rod incorporates Sage Konnetic Technology, utilizing advanced composite materials and optimized resin ratios to create a slimmer blank profile with outstanding torsional stability. This construction dampens blank vibration and tracks straight throughout the casting stroke, ensuring your energy translates into clean, aerodynamic loops. Finished in an attractive Juniper blank color with charcoal wraps and gunmetal trim, it features a Fuji ceramic stripper guide, hard chromed snake guides, and a tip-top that shoot line smoothly across the water. A Super Plus snub-nose half-wells cork handle pairs with a matte slate anodized aluminum up-locking reel seat and a hardwood insert to create a lightweight, comfortable feel in hand all day.
